Emerge revitalized the Manning Community Chest’s annual fundraising efforts by transitioning from traditional methods to a dynamic digital campaign. For nearly 60 years, a door-to-door fundraiser and later a letter campaign was transformed to a direct mail and digital  campaign. This initiative is similar to a community-based United Way campaign and has been a cornerstone fundraiser supporting approximately 28 charitable organizations annually.

Recognizing the need to modernize and expand their reach, the Community Chest board enlisted Emerge to create a distinct identity for the campaign and implement strategies that cater to a broader, digitally-savvy audience. This shift not only refreshed the campaign’s image but also broadened its impact by engaging new supporters, raising increased funds, increasing gift size, and increasing the number of donors.

The revitalization included the implementation of comprehensive digital marketing strategies, the establishment of a robust Facebook presence, and the introduction of an online giving option. These changes not only modernized the campaign but also made it more accessible. Additionally, Emerge helped integrate communications about the campaign and its results, ensuring transparency and engagement with the community. This strategic overhaul was a key part of celebrating the 60th anniversary of Manning Community Chest, marking a significant milestone with a fresh, impactful approach to their charitable efforts.

In the first year alone, the campaign saw an increase of $4,000 in donations compared to the previous year. Additionally, there was a notable uptick in donor engagement, with 20 more repeat donors and 12 new donors contributing to the cause. The average gift size also increased by $20, underscoring the effectiveness of the new digital strategies and refreshed campaign identity in attracting more generous contributions.

Over a three-year period, Emerge’s support enabled the Manning Community Chest to not only sustain but build upon this initial success, ensuring a lasting impact on the community.
