Hi! My name is Lindsey Funk, and I’m a graphic designer at Emerge Marketing Solutions. I joined Emerge part-time in July 2024. Prior to joining Emerge, I worked as a subcontractor through Blue Rock Designs, helping with website design and development. I love working with the Emerge team and am thrilled to be part of such a influential and inspiring group of people.
What Does Nourish Mean to Me?
To me, nourish means giving something to your body or soul that helps it thrive and become the best version of yourself. It’s about fueling your mind, spirit, and physical self with what you need to flourish.
My Nourishment Goals for the Year
This year, my focus is on spending more time with my family, finding happiness in the small things, and giving myself grace when things don’t go perfectly. Slowing down to appreciate life and be present with loved ones is a priority.
A Nourishing Daily Routine
My non-negotiable daily routine is working out. Exercise wakes up my body and prepares me to tackle whatever the day brings. After a hard workout, I feel unstoppable! It’s my favorite way to start the morning with energy and confidence.
Tips for Nourishing Different Areas of Life
- Mind: Reading books is one of my favorite pastimes. It allows me to explore new worlds, ideas, and perspectives while keeping my mind engaged and inspired.
- Body: Running, cycling, and lifting weights keep me strong and resilient. I prioritize building a body that will serve my future self with strength and health.
- Creativity: Crafting, doing puzzles, or designing for my Etsy shop fuels my creativity and helps me stay inspired. These hands-on activities are relaxing and energizing at the same time.
A Nourishing Recipe I Love
Since completing an elimination diet last March, I’ve fallen in love with sweet potatoes. One of my favorite meals is a BBQ Chicken Bowl with Sweet Potatoes and Coleslaw. It’s delicious, nourishing, and packed with flavor. Check out the recipe here.
Final Thoughts on Nourishment
Nourishment is something I’m continuously working on—not just for myself, but also for my marriage and friendships. It’s a lifelong practice of giving time, care, and attention to what matters most. I’m committed to thinking about and improving how I nourish every area of my life, one step at a time.
